able places to call home in Canada... right? Some RCMP
officers think otherwise. North Vancouver City and
-——— District could be faced with 2 $751,300 tab for pay increas-
es to mounties if a proposed deal goes through that would
offset the high cost of living in the Lower Mainland. Let’s
face it — your buck goes further in Cache Creek than it
does on the North Shore. Some approve the raise, saying
that if you want to attract quality people there’s a price tag
attached. Few of us, however, are compensated in our pri-
vate-sector jobs for residing here, but consider it a smal!
price to pay for oll that the Lower Mainland has to offer.
