A BURNABY man charged
with attempted kidnapping
and assault of a 16-year-old
girl in March on Lonsdale
Avenue was jailed 30 days in
connection with the incident.

Frantisek Houdek, 42,
pleaded guilty to harassing the
girl in connection with the
March 21 incident.

The jail sentence was to be
served on weekends as
approved by Judge Bill
Rodgers on Sept. 27 in North
Vancouver provincial court.

Charges of attempted kid-
napping and assault were
stayed (dropped).

According to the North
Vancouver RCMP, Houdeck
approached the girl while she
was walking up Lonsdale
Avenue.

Houdek. police said, was
following beside the girl and
trying to get her to enter his
pickup truck at about 5 p.m.

The frightened teen
reached the public phone at
17th Street and Lonsdale
Avenue and called her moth-
er.

Police said Houdek got out
of the truck and grabbed the
girl who was inside the phone
