raised to assist North Shore
Family Services.

velvet, was ecstatic with the

The theme of the evening was
_ gingerbread houses and the scene
was truly magical, with cach of
the gingerbread houses making a
unique table centerpiece. , '

The reception was a nostalgic ©
family scene, often with three

mixing and posing for photos.

edo-ed son of Devina and Paul
Zalesky, and brother of Stephan,

Kelly Korbin and Bon
McGregor were proudly showings
off their darling little son, Jake
McGregor, who was sleeping
peacefully through all the festive
activity.

Popular importer Jose Vatugue
and his culinary schogl-owner
wife Caren McSherry-Valagao told
me that business is booming!

Caren will be featured on
CBC-TY later this month, There
were looking quite swishy with
their cute daughter, four-year-old
Christina.

Lawyer Hamish Cameron was
there with his wife, NSFS's Ariene
Gladstone, and Hamish’s sprightly
aunt Ruth Laird,

Also chatted with developer
John Evans and his busy wife
Susan.

Susan is a director of NSFS and
is always involved in community
affairs, as are Yulanda and Moh
Faris and Joanne and Joe Hous-
sian.

The presidsat of NSFS, Sue
Bauman, and husband Bob,
warmly greeted their special
guests, North Van City mayor
Jack Loucks and his wife, and
West Van mayor Mark Sager and
his perky wife Kathy.

Linda and Jackson Davies were
enjoying the ball along with Ar-
thur and Joanne Grifiths and
three of their four children.

Our boss Peter Speck, his wife
Mary, and their children John,
Patrice, and Maureen were there
along with Azad and Yasmin
Shamji, Kevin and Bonnie
England, Audrey and Frank So-
jonky and the Howard Addisons.

- Comely Sheila Plum was really
enjoying the affair. She was
chairman of last year’s event.
This time she just sat back and
enjoyed it — as did everyone else!

The evening wound up in tradi-
tional fashion with everyone

Night.

There was another grand ball on
the previous evening at Ruy
Paes-Braga’s Four Seasons Hotel.

This was the annual gala Wall.

Bail hosted by zillionaire Peter
Wall and his wife Charlotte for
250 friends and colleagues. ;

The ballroom decor was cre-
atively designed by Martin van
Kekan and his team, and it
sparkled everywhere.

Peter even flew in two en-
thusiastic bands from Las Vegas

to play and entertain as the guests

dined on succulent salmon.
