I think it could lead peo- ple to saying the opposite of what they want to do.”’ District council passed a bylaw Feb. 11 to dedicate municipal lands located in the inter-river area for park purposes. The Lynn Canyon Park Dedication Bylaw includes land currently maintained by the North Vancouver District Parks Department as district park. Although the park dedication bylaw has already been passed, the legislation to ciedicate the park requires voter support before it can be adopted by council. According to Save Lynn Can- yon Park Association spokesman Maureen Bragg, a ‘Yes’ vote on the bylaw to dedicate the Lynn Canyon Park area will ensure that subsequent land-use decisions will have to be made with public in- put. Said Bragg, ‘‘Dedication is stilt not carved 100 per cent in marble, but at least council has to go to the public. Dedication is the only way for 2,000 houses not to be slipped by us.”’ If a future council were to move Be to rescind a park dedication bylaw, the process would iaclude a public vote such as the one slated for Saturday. .
