Charges against Robert Wesley Laing, 28. were laid in connec- tion with a March 3 break-in at Carson Graham Secondary sehoot. Laing appeared in North Vancouver provincial court Thursday fo face one charge of break and enter and one charge of possession of burglary touls. The charg s were laid against Laing Coliowing a police investiga- tion into the break-in at the North Vancouver school. As a result of the investigation, police seized a collection of gloves, ropes, pliers, vice-grips and other suspected burglary tools. Appearing before North Vancouver provincial court Judge S.E. Giroday, Laing was given a suspended sentence and 15 months probation on the charges. Locals charged with trafficking FOUR MEN appeared in North Vancouver provincial court Thursday charged with various counts of trafficking in narcotics and other restricted drugs. Douglas William Hewer, 34, appeared to face a charge of trat- ficking in marijuana following an Aug. 6 police druy seizure. In unrelated incidents, Randall Allison Mountain, 34, appeared to face a charge of trafficking in MDA after the North Vascouver man was arrested following a July 28 police seizure of the drug; Bart Jeffrey Smith, 23, appeared to face a charge of trafficking in cannabis resin in connection with an Aug.1 incident; and Byron Edward Calpin of Vanconver appeared to face charges of posses- sion of, and trafficking in, LSD and trafficking in MDA after police seized a cache of drugs Aug. 6.
