Once again, this holiday season, having your gifts
wrapped at Capilano Mall gives nwo gifts. First, the gift of
time to the harried shopper, and perhaps more important,
the program is a fund-raiser for North Shore Community
Information and Resource Society (NSCIRS).

North Su ore Community Information and Resource
Society is the new name for an umbrella organization of
services that were formerly handled by two organizations:
North Shore Child Resource Society and North Shore
Community Services.

According to Li Boesen, Executive Director of the new
society, the merge is terrific news for the North Shore.
“We now serve the entire range of the North Shore's popu-
ladon, from childhood through the senior years.”

In order to accommodate ail the services, the sociery is
planning to expand its offices on the second level of Cap
Mall. “The Mall has been really good in working with us,

and we think it's a win/win relationship. Our agency is .

“The main challenge of merging was figuring out where to
put everybody.” Now that's done, she's confident the move
makes sense for both clients and service provider.

Services under the NSCIRS include: Information
North Shore, which includes the ‘Green Book’, a directory
of agencies and organizations, published yearly (985-
7138), Seniors One Stop Information Line 983-3303),
Volunteer North Shore (985-7168), Community Law
Office (980-7000), and Childcare Resource and Referral
Program for the North Shore. ,
