NEWS BRIEFS Forklift fire NORTH VANCOUVER [District Fire Department firefighters were called to a warehouse early Dec. 24 after a forklift caught fire. A sprinkler activated by the heat of the fire extin- guished the fire. According to a fire department spokesman the fire oc- curred after business hours at Northgate Warehousing, 1331 McKeen Avenue. The fire department spokesman said the incident is a good example of the efficiency of sprinkler systems. A single sprinkler head, located in the direct area of the fire, was activated. Book bucks THE NORTH Vancouver City Library has received $133,333 of a $200,000 GO B.C. grant to help renovate the facility, Government Services Minister Lois Boone has said.
