A parks and recreation master
plan adopted by North Vancouver
District in 1984 originally pin-
pointed a need for more indoor
recreational facilities in the Lynn
Valley area.

On the basis of the findings of a
community recreations needs study
of 455 homes, 70 community
groups and two public meetings,
the district approved the construc-
tion of a new Lynn Valley rec cen-
tre.

A new, $906,000 hall is sched-
uled to open in March. The
