between porn and violence
committed against women
and children.

If there is, then porn
should: obviously be , SUP-
pressed with fury. .

But is ‘there? Don’t mind
me, I’m a humble human
citizen who keeps files on all
isorts of subjects, including
crime and pornography,
women’s rights,. and con-
‘stitution and media. This
‘Jast is important, because
media in its full sense, mean-
ing films; and videos and
-music as well as print, is un-
doubtedly some kind of a
“link between all of the

, ith all the furor over pornography and
prostitution, it seems we’re obsessed with

time to time. Not often. Just
on rare occasions. You get

seems to me that the males
as well as the females are be-
ing degraded. Mutual self-
degradation, I guess you'd
call it. Presumably volun-
tary. It’s just prostitution
happening in front of cam-
eras, with the producer pay-
ing.

logical things to each other
should be immediately ar-
rested and thrown in the
slammer for a long, long
time. That’s slavery.

But, | dunno, it looks to
me as though most of them
don’t really mind their line
of work any more than
many of the rest of us mind
ours, And 1 am sure not go-
ing to get puritanical about
it.

I am absolutely 1090 per
cent in favour of preventing
violence against women, by
whatever intellige:t, effec-
tive measures we can take,

including -preemptive legal
strikes. But is censorship one
of them? If porn does reat
damage, show me.

It may, but I’ve yet to see
the evidence. And a lot of
things do a BIT of damage,
starting sith tobacco, yet we
don’t try to make it into
forbidden fruit, because this
is judged to be futile. We
don't ban hockey because it
makes people violent.

Show me the boy who
isn't a potential dirty old
man and J'll show hou a sick
kid. That’s just the way the
world works, We're grown-
ups, aren’t we?
