Joy Metcalfe Se: JOY TELLS ALL POPULAR BROAD- CASTER Rick Honey has just received a belated, though very welcome, Christmas present. For the past couple of years CKNW’s afternoon Road Show host has been appearing with CFM1’s Sterling Faux on televi- sion on Saturday night’s Lotro Night in B.C., the show that is watched by more than 100,000 viewers throughout British Col- umbia. The good news is that Rick has just been appointed by the B.C. Lottery Corporation as the execu- tive director of that same pro- gram. He'll be fully in charge of the programming and the look and feel and appeal of Lotto Night in B.C. Besides his afternoon show and the Lotto program, he emcees and entertains at celebrity affairs and various gala events in town and throughout the province. Obviously, hard work agrees with Rick. He’s in top form, helped greatly by dropping his cigarette habit, he doesn’t touch alcohol and jogs every single day No matter what the weather. Con- gratulations! Whispers are you’ll spot both Rick and his attractive blonde wife, Gale, inside February’s new Restaurant Month booklet that should be out shortly... The best news of the new year is that, in his just-released annual awards list for 1990, Mr. Carter has selected Oceanwood as the “Best Country Inn in Canada’! The rest of the news is that Marilyn had used the impeccable services of John Fanner and his new Harriet’s House Country Decor in the Lonsdale Quay Mar- ket to give their place that wonderful cozy look — from the draperies, to the duvet covers, to the upholstery.
