Signs on Regular Council Agendas STRICT The system, which is new in British Columbia, is a first for the District, thanks to the financial support of ICBC's Road Safety Improvement ' Program. The “Roadway Warning Lights" consist of a series of flashing yellow lights, embed- ded in the road surface, that line both sides of the painted crosswalk. The lights rise about I 4centimetres above the asphalt and can be seen at a distance of 180 meters or more ground reports on agende. items. « NOTICE when flashing. Pedestrians activate the system with a push of a button located at either end of the crosswalk. The lights then alert motorists that they're approaching an occupied crosswalk. The system is expected to be in place the week of February 14 and will be used asa test site for future use at other locations. No, there hasn't been a drought - just a change in process. The bill, which used to go out in January, will now be included with your property tax bill in late May. That means it won't be due until July 5, the same day property taxes are due. Rather than offering the usual early payment discount, the water charge will be discounted for all residents.
