According to the North Vancouver RCMP. at. least four home invaders wearing generic police jackets and ski masks shouted, — “police. search warrant,” betore kick- ing in the front door of a home in the 2600-block of mpe Knoll Drive in North couver, he men were armed with an automatic assault rifle (MAK9Q0), a sawed off shot- gun and at least one other gun, said North Vancouver RCMP Const. Heidi Hoftmar. Three people in the rent- ed house, ovo men and a woman, were handcuffed by the suspects. A fourth resi- dent jumped out the window, ran to a neighbor's home and called police during the 10 cident, home — inva reportedly said, “Give us the bud.” Bud refers to marijua- na. Hoffmar said the home invasion was not a random act. “7 want to still people's fears... They knew chey v going to that house specili- cally,” said Hoffman. She said that the residents of the home had earlier run- ins with police. The home was rented by a man and his girlfriend and two male roommates. The main renter jumped out the window leav- ing his girlfriend and room- mates with the armed men. Police believe the home invaders got —_ nothing. Nobody was injured. The home invaders took off in) a maroon Ford Acrostar van. The van was not stolen. A neighbor gave olice the van's licence num- «and description. Police caught up with the van and gave chase to Lonsdale and 25th Street where four suspects bailed out of the parked van. Three men were arrested. A fourth home invader got away. During the chase, the home invaders threw the loaded shotgun and assaul riffle out the van. A sledge- hammer, police scanner and a cell phone were also tossed. Police found $2,000 in the van. Charges of break and enter were laid against William Arthur Paradis, and Austin Lore Fran 26, both of Westminster, and Leo Joseph Kothuber, 27 of Burnaby. The men appeared in North Vancouver provincial court on Monday. They were held in custody until their Next court appearance on April 1. More charges are expected. needs just'call.
