as a member of the Canadian team. Tune in at

¢ BOXING: NASEEM HAMED VS.
KEVIN KELLEY (TSN, ch. 15) Check out
boxing’s newest sensation in this taped fight.
Britain’s Prince Nascem Hamed has to be seen
to be believed. The Naz recently signed a six
fight deal with a pay-per-view company, and if
this fight is any indicasion. you'll be secing, and
definitely hearing a lot more about Hamed in
the near future. The bell sounds at 1 p.m.

ALEX Colville’s 1957 painting Couple on Beaci. The life

and works of the celebrated Canadian artist are the sub-
ject of a one-fiour documentary on Sunday afternoon.

¢ PROFILE: ALEX COLVILLE (BRAVO, ch. 28) The life and times of Canadian painter Alex Colville are the sub-
ject of Splendour of Order. The one-hour profile airs at 4 p.m.
¢ THE PASSIONATE EYE (CBC NEWSWORLD, ch. 23) The fifteen-minute-of-fame-factorics known as talk
shows are explored in “Talked To Death”, a 90-minute documentary that combines on-air segments, interviews and
behind-the-scenes footage in an attempt to get to the bottom of the medium. Those interviewsd include Maury
Povich, Geraldo Rivera and Phil Donahue. Airs at 5 p.m.

1997 saw a lot of great product for all
three of the major game
‘consoles, a banner year really. Compiled
for you, fellow game geeks, is a list of
the hits as I saw them last year. If you
“don’t agree with my choices, bear in

” everything on the market and that your
-opinion means nothing anyway. So here

The sinister spy bent on slaughter —
and he’s the good guy!— has captured
the hearts of million. And why not?
Probably the best gaine ever made... so

NFL Quarterback Club 98 on the
Nintendo64

All right, 64-bit sports look great and
now, thanks to the talented folks ar
Acclaim, they play great- and I hate
football!

Shining the Holy Ark on the Saturn
Another Saturn game? While the over-

indulgent epic Final Fantasy VII swept

the marker Saturn’s little gem offered a
good old fashion RPG.

Black Dawn on the Playstation

A thanktully realistic helicopter sim with
complex handling characteristics. Very
rewarding for dextrous geeks bent on
mayhem.

Star Fox 64 on the Nintendo64

A game I didn’t think I'd iike until I
found myself completely immersed in
this epic Star Wars-like saga.

Rage Racer on the Playstation
With about a billion racers out there,

Rage stood out as the cream of the crop.

Fighters Mega Mix o:” the Saturn

Ok, the last Saturn game I'll mention.
But let’s face it, nobody can beat Sega in
the 3D fight arena. Really mean, really
real.

Time Crisis on «i. Playstation
The quintessential carget game for ‘97-
probably ‘98 and ‘99 roo!

K-} The Arena Fighters on the
Playstation

A great rival for Sega’s fighters, this
authentic kick-bexing sim made me
cringe at every bone-crushing blow.

Crash Bandicoot 2 on the Playstation
The silly Sony mascot came back and
offered a brand new adventure without
changing the familiar fun of the original.

Nightmare Creatures on the
Playstation
A Tomb Raider wannabe that was a
pleasant if not gory surprise. Almost as
good as they get.
