- and switches designed the Toyota
way.

As a result, Toyota claims that
the Avalon has more American
content than any previous Toyota
product.

Te will be manufactured at
Toyota’s Georgetown plant in
Kentucky — a two-time winner of
J.D. Power and Associates’ presti-
gious Gold Plant Quality Award.

My only complaint about the
Avaton is its somewhat bland look.

From just about any angle, it
says “family car for traditional
folks.”

However, since it is targeted at
mainstream full-size car buyers —
whose average age Is arount 50 to
60 years — I can see why it doesn’t
look too sporty or aggressive.

The Avalon will be available in
two trim levels: the base XL and
top-model XLS. Both will feature
dual airbags, four-speed automatic,
four-wheel disc brakes, power win-
dows and locks, and numerous
other items.

Prices have yet to be announced,
but expect the Avalon to cost in the
low-to-mid $30,000s.
