BUTTERS - Thomas W. Lowell
Butters died peacefully on a
sunlit North Shore afternoon,
February 22, 1990, in the com-
pany of his family at Lions Gate
Hospital after a full life of 72

years,

He is survived by his devoted
wife Jacqueline; children Nan,
Lowell, Brian, !an and Tamara;

spouses Giuseppe, Lise, Gail,
Pamela and Douglas; and grand-
children Jacob, Sara, Cameron,
Valerie, Lindsay, Lauren, Katja
‘and Liam. Survived also by sister
Bunty Dubrssen of Engtand.
Predeceased by brother Dennis
of Campbell River.

Long a fesident of Vancouver,
Tommy Butters was a West Van-
couver pioneer, tived in Victoria
for 30 years and returned to West
Vancouver in 1987.

A brave soldier and leader of
men, he was wounded three
times in the tine of duty in the
Second World War, was men-
tioned in dispatches and was
commissioned from the ranks of
the Canadian Scottish Regimert.
He attended U.B.C. and was a
member of Phi Kappa Pi fraterni-
ty. He was successful in a series
of careers, including manage-
ment of Kloepfer Hardware Co. in
Vancouver and provincial gov-
ernment service in civil defence
and tater social work, where he
earned an RSW designation and,
following retirement, served as a
counsellor tor seniors. He was a
member of the Vancouver Rotary
Club.

Funeral mass was held Monday.
February 26 at St. Anthony’s
Church, West Vancouver.

tive Lung Disease program at
