Men jailed for theft TWO MEN of no fixed address were sentenced Friday in North Vancouver provincial court to jail terms after they pleaded guilty to charges of theft under $1,000. James Beverley Coleman, 33, and Robert Allen Gill, 32, were each charged with one count of theft in connection with Sept, 22 incidents in which cigarette tobacco, shaving cartridges, razors, a package of cigars and two sandwiches were stolen from Canada Safeway Ltd. Appearing before Judge $.K. Shaw, Coleman and Gill were sentenced to 10 and one-day jail terms respectively. NV woman awarded $2,855 A NORTH Vancouver woman was recently awarded $2,855 in criminal injury compensation under the Criminal Injury Compen- sation Act. The 24-year-old woman was beaten and kicked by a male assailant who had forced his way into her residence. She suffered a nesal fracture and multiple contusions. A total 117 awards were announced during August.
