Starting today, the News will be giving away places in the popular All-Star Basketball and Volleyball Summer Camps that have helped over 12,000 youngsters gain con- fidence and skills in these two widely-played, popular pastimes. With a program designed for en- joyment, skill development and motivation, camp founder Dan Miscisco realizes the participants may not be champion material. Fun learning is the emphasis at the All-Star Basketball and Volleyball Camps. “The ultimate aim is,‘How can | make these kids happy?’ said Miscisco, who believes that if the participants are well they learn much better. “If the instructors are en- thusiastic then you get the motiva- tion,’’ Miscisco explained. ‘‘Peo- ple whe enjoy what they’re do- ing...that helps motivate.’’ With an infectious enthusiasm for the game, the camp’s instruc- tors put their charges through skill-building drills under realistic game-like conditions. “It’s a lot of drills, a lot of con- ditioning,” he said of the summer camps. In basketball, where a steady rhythm is all-important, Miscisco uses music to help his hoopsters to get the beat for dribbling the ball down the court. “They're working, they’re sweating, but they’re enjoying it,’’ said Miscisco. “They do work very, very hard motivated, _PRESIDENTIAL _ PAINT SERVICE » Chemical cleaning w~ Thorough machine sanding y Hand sand entire car Full coat of primer sealer Paint in catalyzed enamel wv Oven-baked finish FREE ESTIMATES RUST REPAIRS ICBC CLAIMS 984-4111 945 W. ist ST NORTH VANCOUVER (Next to Beaver Lumber) Hours: Mon.-Fri.
