WEST VANCOUVER resi-
dent Jim Haliburton is hav-
ing his personal road to suc-
cess laminated.

After seven years of develop-
ment, Haliburton’s Dura _ Lite
laminating process has caught the
Canadian wall hanging art buying
public’s imagination.

At Poster/Art Laminators on
Robson Street in Vancouver, cus-
tomers can bring in posters or any
other two-dimensional objects in
line to be rendered permanent and
have them bonded to a half-inch
foam board and sealed under a
clear, semi-gloss plastic laminate
with a built-in UV deterrent.

The outlet also offers a cata-
logue of 10,000 images and ready
made laminated art.

The foam backing incorporates
the principles used in the design of
the space shuttle tiles for strength
and minimal weight.

“It’s 1/7 the weight of wood
and doesn’t absorb moisture,
which makes this tremendous mail
order business potential for us,”
explained Haliburton,

Haliburton projects $350,000 to
$400,000 in sales for ’87. :

“The work will include
replacement of the starboard
wingwall and installation of a
floating leud at Crofton,’* said
George Baldwin, general manager
of the B.C. Ferry Corporation.
“At Vesuvius, both wingwalls wili
be replaced, all dolphins removed
but one, and replaced with a
floating lead. The wharf, from the
shore to the Joading ramp, will
also be redacked.

The wharf work will mean en-
forced load restrictions and some
cancelled mid-day sailings until
early April.
