North Vancouver's Andrew Hanson finished third in the Tour de White Rock after posting a time of 3:10:46 in the three-stage race, which included a one-kilometre hill climb and a 60-kilometre criterium on Aug. 31 and the Sept. 1, 66- kilometre Hans Steida Memorial road race. Brian Walton, a 20-year-old Simon Fraser University student, took the overall title with a time 3:09:40. Vancouver’s finished second. Westview Cycle Racing Club member Les Akins won the 44- Paul Tettamanti kilometre category four division of the Hans Steida Memorial Race. The win gave the 22-year-old rider the required points to ad- vance to category three racing. North Vancouver's Desi San- salone, 16, finished third in the category four division. A total of 191 riders took part in the seventh annual event.
