Junior Age Group Championships hosted by the Uni- versity of Victoria and St. Michael's School at the end of last month, One hundred and Corty youngsters competed in four age groups ~— under-12, -14, -16 and -19 and of the 32 gold medals awarded, 13 were won by Norih Shore players, Fourteen silver medals out of a possible 32 were also added to the collection. Most of the North Shore players train at the Hollyburn Country Club under coach Zip Dhanani, while the remainder play out of the Vancouver Racquets Club or the Vancouver Lawn Tennis Club. in the under-12 event, Alison Rice of Hollyburn won the Triple Crown, pairing up with Alison Paterson to defeat club-mates Paige Davis and Rachel Morgan in girls’ doubles, Playing with club partner Greg Louie, the earlier winner defeated Hollyburn couple Michael Bonderove and Davis in mixed doubles. Jason Kittler of Holiyburn completed his club's domination by winning the boys’ singles in the same age group. - Moira Ong of West Vancouver was the only-North Shore player to win-an under-14 event, taking the girls’ singles over Ali Khan. : ‘In under-16. play, Eima Ong, who chose to playin the upper age group, won three medals.
