reconstruction, a water play area,
improved washrooms, playground
gear, a concession stand and a
horseshoe pitch.

The plan, he said, has ‘“‘the
essential elements to revitalize
Mahon Park.”’

North Shore Horseshoe Club
president Buster Buckle told the
committee he had pitched horse-
shoes all over the world but never
in North Vancouver, where the
lack of proper horseshoe pitches
forces him to practice his sport in
Burnaby.

Included in the $120,000 facility
would be a private clubhouse and
14 public horseshoe pitches. Cf-
ficials of the 45-member club hope
the new facility will spark interest
in horseshoe pitching and swell
their ranks with new members.
