ground beef or fish is a better buy?
This doesi’t mean that you must
run all over town ‘cherry pick-
ing’’. Just be aware of the specials
in your own favorite market.

* Carry less cash. The old rule
prevails — if you’ve got it you'll
spend it. Clip your credit cards
together and hide them. Write
cheques for everything. Without
credit cards you'll be severely
limited in where you can cash a
cheque. Especially in the grog
shop!

* Study your savings book.
Have a regular time to see just how
well you're doing and at the same
time read some new travel
brochures. ’

* Each time your savings ac-
count reaches a_ predetermined
amount, invest it in an investment

certificate. These may be purchas-
ed for terms as short as one month
but they keep greedy hands from
using the money for something
else.

* Give a thought to your living
arrangements. Are you living
alone in an apartment? Consider
subletting a room. Is your apart-
ment expensive? Consider renting
modestly in someone's basement
for a few months.

* Are you driving a car? Would
it be more economical to ride the
bus and not worry about gas, in-
surance or parking? Cars are lux-
uries that we take for granted.
Expensively.

And, if all else fails, move back
home with Mom and Dad. Drive
their car, eat their food and
generally foul up their retirement.

They'll! be so glad to get rid of
you that they’ll likely sive you a
no-interest, nO-repayment loan.
