CARSON GRAHAM graduate Katherine Campbell, the first winner of the Jacquie Whit-
taker Memorial Humanitrian Award, is flanked by Ken Mason and Barbara Whittaker. The
award is in memory of Jacquie Whittaker, a 1981 Carson Graham grad who was killed in
1982. The award was presented by Whittaker’s mother Barbara, and Mason, chairman of the
schcol's scholarship committee.

memorial award

A NORTH VANCOUVER
family is honoring its late
daughter with a memorial
award in her name.

Katherine Campbell is the
first recipient of the Jacquie
Whittaker Memorial
Humanitarian award from
Carson Graham high school.

Campbell was chosen by
the scholarship committee
from a list of nominees.

Jacquie was a 1981 Carson
Graham grad who was killed
in an accident at Lynn Can-
yon Park in August of 1982,

An active student, Jacquie
also organized fund raisers
for charities such as the
Terry Fox Cancer Fund and
the Kidney Foundation.

She was a member of Stu-
dent Council and
Greenpeace and a_ regular
blood donor. Throughout
school she played on
basketball and field hockey
teams and was a member of
the track and field team.

Born in Vancouver, Jac-
quie lived all her life in
North Vancouver. She at-
tended Larson and
