NDP launches drive for more members NORTH VANCOUVER- Seymour New Democrats have launched a drive to dou- ble the constituency associa- tion’s membership in the next- year. The drive is part of a province-wide effort to raise the number of registered New Democrats from 24,255 to 100,000 by Spring, 1986. “As part of that effort each constituency association has been asked to increase its membership to 10 per cent of its vote in the last provincia! eiection,” said North Van- couver Seymour NDP presi- dent Terry Lavender. ‘For us that means effectively doubling our membership to Lavender said each New Democrat in the constituency is being asked to sign up two other members. To help with this effort, the provincial party has started a direct mail cazapaign targeted at current and potential members in cach of the constituencies.
