B7 - Sunday, June 10, 1984 - North Shore News GE auto xx; ee STUDENTS who have their own ideas about traffic safety — and put them into practice — have the chance to earn awards for their schools in a province-wide incentive pro- gram organized by ICBC and the Ministry of Attorney General. More than 2500 elementary and high schools are eligible to take part in the 1984 Traf- fic Safety Award program, designed to encourage stu- dent participation in school and community traffic safety activities. Awards of $500 will go to 40 elementary schools that pays school student committees o f school year programs design- ed to influence young people towards safe traffic behaviour. Entries must be submitted by November |. Successful applicants, selected by panels including teachers, police of- ficers, nurses, insurance agents, the media and representatives of CounterAttack and ICBC, will be announced by mid- November. The incentive program is jointly funded by BC Lot- teries, the Ministry of At- torney General and the In- can document projects developed and carried out in conjunction with parents, teachers and members of the community.
