held at the Kinsmen

Living Resource Centre,
Dec. 8-10, 10am to2 pm.

Co-sponsored by _ the
Foundation and the Disabled
Skiers’ Association of B.C.,
the exhibit will include such
items as “outriggers” —
crutches fitted with
miniature skis to give am-
putees the control they
need, — “ski bras” which
bind skis together in a v-
shape improving the
mobility and strength of the
cerebral palsied and a sonic
device designed to guise
blind skiers down slopes.

Judith Spence, former
president of the Skiers
Association will be on hand
Tuesday, December 9 to
acquaint visitors with “learn
to ski’? and = other
recreational programs
curently underway and to
answer inquiries, including
those from individuals with a
need for very particular
adaptations.

The ski display is the first
of a number of special
features slated for the
Disabled Living Resource
Centre and is part of the
Centre's ongoing efforts to
inform disabled people, their
friends and families, and
rehabilitation professionals
with the variety of aids
available and with resource
groups they can turn to.
