Gas hikes decried

Dear Editur:

An open fetter to BC Hydro and
BC Gas: .

This is to inform you that we the
consumers are greatly opposed to
your drastic increases in gas, There
is no justification for these increas-
es considering the profits you are
making,

! am now paying $175 per
‘month and next month with another
increase it will be $200.

BC Hydro say their increase to
consumers will be 3.9% yet BC

Gas is only increasing it to 2.4%. A -

profit of 1.5%. This is ludicrous.

BC Gas say they have not had ~

an increase for six years. This is no
excuse 10 increase Our rates so dras-
tically. Nov. 1, 1993 — combined
increases equal 18%. 7S

Another increase of 3.9% went
_into effect Jan, 1, 1994. A total of
21.9% plus GST, transit levy, also
taxing us tax on the tax,
