Place Stadium open for the Pacific International Auto Show. Cars of the future from Toyota, General Motors Pontiac and Ford Trucks will vie for attention with a glittering array of new 1989 models. The Toyota GTV bristles with hi-tech energy. A sporty, personal two plus two Gran Turismo car of the future, it is powered by a high performance gas turbine engine. The Pontiac Trans Sport is a futuristic statement in automotive design, a kind of freewheeling in- novation from a totally new breed of Pontiac. The Ford concept vehicle — the Bronco DM-1 — is what a truck may look like in the 1990s. The sleek four-wheel-drive utility vehi- ele has a fibergiass and steel-rein- forced body, four-sided flush glass and a hidden roll bar. Inside, there’s room for five passengers on six-way adjustable seats. A special electronic naviga- tion system maps the vehicle’s focations. Thrill seekers will want to ad- mire the numerous racing cars on display throughout the entire show.
