But some people say the recent slaying of 14 women in Montreal has made the need for stringent gun control jaws all the more urgent. But other groups say tighter laws would merely punish those who buy guns for legal purposes such as hunting cr collecting and will not prevent criminals or psychologically unstable people from procuring guns.
