Technically, the space age mate- rial with which the body of the Stutz Bearcat I! is made is called carbon fibre, but because the Stutz Company has used it in a secret formula, it is called Diamond Fibre Comp. The body can never corrode. The basic material is being cur- rently applied to areas of high technology, such as ICBM missiles, satellite space stations, commercial aircraft and supersonic aircratt. This material was chosen because it is one-third the weight of steel, yet three times as strong, making it virtually indestructible. The car has a 5.7-litre engine and a General Motors drive train for easy servicing. The moldings, instruments, switches and interior screws are plated with 24-karat gold. Options include choice of mink, chinchilla or ermine for floor and trunk coverings, 24k gold plating of any metal part on the car and color television. About 120 Bearcat convertibles will be built at Stutz Motor Caz’s Turin, Italy, plant for sale worldwide. Two already have been delivered — one to the Sultan of Brunci and the other to his brother. Stutz Motor Car, a closely held company whose stock is traded over the counter, has been produc- ing luxury automobiles since 1968 for wealthy and famous customers such as Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali and Willy Mays.
