pensation Board certification in
North Vancouver early in the new

6:45 to 9:45 p.m. from Jan. 8 to
March 16.

holds up one of 680 Christmas trees the West Van Lion’s Club will be
selling this month. In the background, volunteers help unload the trees
at Ambleside Park where the trees are heing sold. The trees cost be-
tween $6 and $10 eack with profits going to Lions Club charities.

out a new Finlandia loom that was
recently donated to Capilano by
Varpapuu Ky.

Ky,the largest loom manufactur-

ing company in Finland. Var-
painen arranged the gift after 2
visit to the weaving classes.
Coordinator of the craft pro-
gram, Mieneke Mees, describes the
loom as ‘‘beautifully made’’. It is
built of hard Finnish birch and
steel, and its robust structure
makes it ideal for schools, weaving
studios, and heavy professional use.
