In Maple Ridge, Kanaka Creek Regional Park has trails, waterfalis, bridges and the Save-the-Salmon mini-hatchery which is open every day from I to 2 pm. Marine life is a major at- traction at Belcarra Regional Park, located west of loco near Port Moody, where you can explore the tidal flats or go scuba diving. The park also offers trails, an open playing field, a long wharf — and a fantastic view down In- dian Arm. df mountains appeal to you, head for the scenic ca- nyon trails of Capilano Shore, the most heavily used park in the GVRD system. The Capilano Pacific Walk along the river connects the Centennial Walk on the seafront with the Baden Powell Hiking Trail. The Capilano Fish Hatchery is a popular attraction open year- round. Meadows teem with life even in winter, and Campbell Valley Regional Park in Langley has about 285 hec- tares of trails and open spaces for nature study or en- joyment. Further up the Fraser Valley is Aldergrove Lake Regional Park, more peaceful in winter than dur- ing hot summer weekends when crowds flock to its man-made swimming lake. And horse enthusiasts take note — Campbell Valley Regional Park boasts equestrian trails. _ Even history buffs will find something of interest in the GVRD’s regional parks. The Burr House and Inverholme Schoolhouse, both dating from the early years of this century, are part of heritage site being cstablished at Deas Island.
