AS a canine trainer, I write this column in the hopes that the advice I offer might help those who need it. ‘ T also hope that people « can Tecognize any mistakes they've “made and correct them in the future. In most cases the phone calls and e-mails I get are positive. But once in a while I get a phone call from someone who seems to read between the | lines and interpret what I say i a most bizarre fashion. ‘This happened the other ight. Do I really need to say who the loser is? A hint: it’s not the dog, and it certainly is not Linda! Dog ovmership is a pretty black and white issue. You either are responsible for your dog at all tines or you are not. Responsible dog owners do not make excuses for their ‘dog’s bebaviour. They accept any faults and make efforts to change them. Irresponsible dog owners make excuses and do nothing. _ =~ Joan Klucha is the owner of Sierra K9 Training os the North Share.
