Burrard Band
chief appeals
for meeting

A recent outbreak of
vandalism at North
Vancouver's
Ravenwoods develop-
ment has led Burrard
native Band Chief
Leonard George to
issue a plea to those
responsible.

“We encourage those out
there who want to deface our

roperty te come and get to
now us and find out what
our objectives arc,” said
George.

The latest —_ incident
involved covering the devel-
opment’s sign on Dollarton
Highway with a red sub-
stance, About a month carlier,
vandals spray-painted the
words “tree killers” and sever-
al other marks onto a wall
along the  development’s
access road.

Ravenwoods is located on
Burrard band land north of
Dollarton Highway, An access
road ascending the steep bank
trom Dollarton was con-
structed following North
Vancouver District’s refusal to
allow an access road from the
Seymour Parkway to the
north of the development.

related, he said they are prob-
ably similarly motivated by

environmental concerns. But,

said George, the trees cleared
