Grief recovery group sponsors six-week program

NORTH SHORE GRIEF RE-
COVERY GROUP... A six-week
program sponsored by the North
Shore Grief. Recovery Group
begins on Monday, Oct. 18 at 7:15
-p.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in
Edgemont Village, North Van-
couver. The group will meet cach
Monday night through Nov. 22.
The community-based program
will provide information about the
grieving process, healthy ways to
move through it and an opportu-
nity to be with others who are
going through a similar experi-

Apple
Festival

THE UBC Botanical Garden
will be hosting an Apple Fes-
tival on Saturday and Sun-
day, Oct. 16 and.17, from 11
a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

This ‘‘celebration of the
apple’ will feature many
unusual varieties for tasting,
buying and growing.

It will be held-in the Food
Gurden, amid the splendid
examples of espalier pruning
done ‘by: Food Garden horti-

Admission to the garden
and the festival is free and
refreshments will be available.
