NV concert to benefit Bolivian far

SIX OF B.C.'s most talented per-
formers will appear in a special
benefit concert entitled ‘*Van-
couver’s Christmas Gift,°’ at
North Vancouver's Centennial
Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 8

p.m.

Sponsored by Neighbors of the
World and Reachout Canada, this
concert is the third annual fund-
raising event from which proceeds
go to provide assistance to pover-

ty-stricken areas in the third world.
This year’s concert will provide
assistance to the poor farmers of
Bolivia, by promoting the planting
and marketing of berry crops as an
alternative to coca plants.

Tickets, available at all Tick-
etmasters outlets are $10 for
adults, $6 for children under 12
and $25 for a family of two adults
and up to four children.

PRESCHOOL AND school-age
skating workshops will be hosted
by recCentre Karen Magnussen
during the Christmas school break.

Preschoolers can improve
skating skills with lessons, games,
music and fun at Tiny Tots Ice
Follies.

School-age children can _par-
ticipate in hockey workshops,
power skills workshops and _ ice
follies. All lessons stress improve-
ment of skating abilities, but the
main emphasis is on fun.

Workshops will be offered
Tuesday to Friday, Jan. 2 to 5, at
different times of the day. For
