A SEMINAR focused on improv-
ing the quality of a second mar-
riage or similar relationship will
be held at the North Shore Neigh-
bourhood House.

This Time, We're Going to Do
It Right will be the topic of a talk
given by Dr. J.D. Stake, a
counsellor. specializing in single
and married-again adults.

The North Shore Personal
Development Institute will host the
evening. ‘“‘With the. increasing
divorce rate and the renewed cau-
tion against casual sex, Canadians
are examining their patterns of
relationships,’’ says Barbara
McKenzie, one of the directors of
the institute.

“People want to have quality
relationships but many simply
don’t know how. One serious rela-
tionship or marriage fails. Then a
person’s ability to relate.is further
stifled by the fear of failing again.
Dr. Stake will. focus his attention

_on positive and creative means of
dealing with the past in order to
improve the current or future rela-
tionship.”

The seminar will be held Thurs-
‘day, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. Coffee
and refreshments will be served.

Stake, who is from Lafayette,
Louisiana, earned his PhD in
counselling. Much of his experi-
ence is with single adults. He cur-

Meadows and Maple Ridge.
There are four topics: housing,
farmland preservation, emergency
preparation -and transportation.
