This was a great start to
our evening’s dining ex-
perience at the Chez Michel
restaurant at 1373 Marine
Drive in West Vancouver:

The restaurant has been
open for five years and owner
Michel Segur has built up a
regular clientele by offering
excellent food, good service
and a refined yet friendly
atmosphere.

There is seating capacity
for approximately sixty peo-
ple and the second floor loca-
tion gives diners an oppor-
tunity to view the scenic Van-
couver harbour on clear dry
nights.

We had difficulty making a
decision for our entrees as
everything looked so inviting.
The four of us finally decided
upon the marengo
($10.50)-veal, mushrooms
and onions in a red wine
sauce, the 8 0z. peppercorn
steak ($13.50), the entrecote
dijonaisse ($13.50) and the
escalope of veau normandie
($13.50).

Each of the meals was
cooked to perfection and ac-
companied by potatoes and
fresh vegetables. The sauce
on the peppercorn steak was
zesty but not hot and the di-
jonaisse sauce was delicious.

When presented with the
dessert menu | was am@azed at
its extensiveness. There were
sO many interesting and
tempting creations we just
