nesty International censured
mearly every nation in the
world today for some sort of
human rights’ violations,
including the United States
where “police brutality
against ethnic mimorities is
widespread and severe” and
“officially tolerated” .
Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia
and the Soviet Union, which
has long been criticized as a
rights transgressor by the
London-based human rights
agency, drew heavy
criticism in Amnesty’s 408-
page annual report that took
to task 110 nations.
