To be successful, a candidate must win two distinctly different cam- paigns. In the first he must convince about 300 persons to give him the party nomination, and in the second he must appeal to the entire constituency, perhaps 30,000 people. — — The first campaign gets very little attention in the press and the public suffers from this neglect. The ratio of 300 to 30.000 indicates the principal weakness in the selection process. S There was rudeness at meeting Dear Editor: Re: The letter from Mr. Crawford Killan on the Cove Cliff issue. Mr. Kilian is correct in stating there was rudeness at the recent mecting held to discuss the proposed new school. In fact, most of the rudeness originated from Kilian’s own group in a vicious, personal attack on Mrs. Jacqueline Sharpe, a long time resident and community leader, when she attempted to give her ‘ob- jections to the proposed new school.
