When using material such as pine, hemlock, fir or
spruce for an exterior project, such as a sundeck, it is
very important to apply a “sealer finish” for at least one
year. This allows the moisture to vent from: the natural
wood fibres, therefore, eliminating cracking and
peeling of any finish which may have deen applied.
The “sealant” should be left on the surface for at least a
year before applying any other finishes to the wood.
Finishes which are applied before one year, are subject
to cracking and blistering.
