[ think a Burrard Intet tunnel is a
very good idea, but it should have
been built many years ago. I also
think the on and off ramps should
be part of the tunnel cost, not fi-
nanced by North Shore

all. We live in’ an carthquake

flood for sure.

AN ENGINEER with a plan to build a tunnel under the Burrard Intet
linking the North Shore with downtown Vancouver has caught the
imaginations of many North Shore residents. The plan to finance the
mammoth job through the sale of Jand on a currently non-existent
island has been met with some skepticism, but any option to the Lions
Gate Bridge traffic quagmire is worth taking seriously,

seems to me the flushing out of
Coal Harbour will not be possible
with an island that size there. Just
fook at the effect the breakwater
has had in Eagle Harbour.
