Delbrook siates new programs for all

DELBROOK Community Centre
has a fall program for everyone.
There are many old favorites, but

along with these, organizers have >

added new programs that will
delight all ages.

New to Delbrook this fall are
preschool and school-age programs
run in conjunction with adult
fitness programs.

Wiggles and Giggles will be of-
fered four early evenings a week.
This program caters to the two
(toilet trained and walking) to 12
year old.

This social integrated program
adapted to the different — ages,
promotes sharing, learning and
helping each other. Games, toys
and art activities will be included.

Drop-ins will be available but

preregistration is recommended.

Sneakers and Snacks as well as
Tiny Tot Paste and Paper pro-
grams will be offered for Moms
wishing to take part in daytime
fitness or court sports — check the
Leisure Guide for appropriate days
and times.

Preschoolers will enjoy the new
carpentry program. Easy take-
home projects will be constructed
from wood in Pee Wee Builders.
Each project will be simple for
small hands, yet challenging.

For the first time ever, Delbrook
Recreation Centre will continue
tennis lessons into the fall session.

This is your chance to take the
lessons you missed this summer.

Adult cooking classes have been
expanded this fall, so watch for
courses on Vegetarian Cooking,
Heart Cooking (low cholesterol
recipes), and find out how to cook
tofu.

One-night workshops on soups,
salads, brunch and appetizers will
also be offered. Check your
Leisure Guide for kids’ cooking
programs as well.

For the health of it, get involved
in a fitness program. It’s not nec-
essary to go to an aerobics class to
get fit — why not try the walking
club?

For the older adult, Elderobics,
an aerobic class to music, has
expanded to beginner and advanced
groups.

For all armchair athletes, it’s
time to get up and moving. Sunday
afternoons will feature ball
hockey, a drop-in program in
which teams are formed as people
come in.

For women only, drop-in
basketball is offered for those who
haven’t played since high school
and are eager to shoot some
baskets.

If interest warrants in both ball
hockey and women’s basketball,
league play will be set up.
