| f i THE BLUE ANGELS are coming to the Abbotsford International Airshow. The show takes place Friday, August 8, Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10. Family fun will be the theme August 10 as_ the Vancouver Canucks of today meet ithe Canucks of yesteryear at Nat Bailey Stadium in a benefit softball matchup marking’ the hockey club's largest fund- raising event of the year. And regardless of the score of the ball game, the big winners of the day will be the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Greater Vancouver and the CKNW Orphans’ Fund. Those two organizations will share 50 per cent of the day’s gate receipts, thanks to the generosity of the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club. The August 10 match, which immediately precedes - a Vancouver Canadians baseball double-header, will pit more than a dozen current ucks against a squad mado up of former Canucks fugmented by active players from other NHL teams who make their off-season homes in the Vancouver area. Players such as_ Tiger ‘Williams, Kevin McCarthy, Harold Snepts and Curt Fraser, to name just a few, will be facing such former Canucks as Cesare Maniago, Gerry O'Flaherty, Dunc Wilson and Gregg Boddy in addition to Ryan Walter of the Washington Capitals and ex-Canuck, current Phila- deiphia Flyer, Jack Slowpitch standings St. Alice and the Snappers are still on top in the North Vancouver mixed slowpitch standings. Both teams have 6-2 records. Tokeland, the Slugs and the Masterbatters are tied for second with cight points, four points back of the leaders. However, the Masterbatters have played more games than Tokeland and the Slugs. The Clams, with a 3-6 record, and the Squids, 2-7, bring up the rear.
