When she accepted a
position in the Clerk's
office of West Van
municipality, Jean
Jamison (then Jean
Gamage) was asked to

promise that she would

And she stayed. Last
week, Mrs. Jamison
cleaned out her desk
and retired as Deputy

Municipal Clerk, 33
years of service later.

When asked if she had
enjoyed her job, she an-
swered  matter-of- -factly, |

foolish to stay a long time in
a job they didn’t like.” . _.

City Hall when she began
working there.

“It was small, and we got

departments,” she says.

made it much more in-
