Christmas cards save kids BRITISH COLUMBIA ar- usts donate their talents to Save the Children Fund of British Columbia Christmas Card program. Christmas is the special time for children. This holi- day, all British Columbians can give a little help to needy children around the world and send delightful, B.C.-style Christmas greetings at the same time. The Save the Children Fund (SCF) of British Columbia presents colorful, fresh, original Christmas card designs just in time for mail- ing now. SCF’s Christmas Card pro- gram is one of the major fund-raisers of this indepen- dent, non-profit organiza- tion. This year’s cards are bright and original — very special designs created and donated by Vancouver artists Diana Durrand, Heather Woodall, Fred Forster and Bob Partridge. B.C. responded = enthus- iastically to last year’s pro- gram — the first to feature specially-designed cards with a local theme and a local background. Eight designs were selected from submis- sions by students of the Emi- ly Carr School of Art and Design. Ten cards of a single design are only $3.50. It's an inex- pensive way to shop for special cards and help the children of the world as well. SCF of B.C. maintains overseas community pro- jects, training and food pro- grams and sponsorship of children. Money raised by the card program supplements GIVE BLOOD. eo overseas projects. SCF Christmas Cards are on sale in West Vancouver at Super Valu in Park Royal South, and in North Van- couver at Super Valus in Capilano Mall, 17th and Lonsdale, Capilano High- lands and Westlynn Mall.
