These were the findings of a. North Shore News telephone poll conducted August!10. _ The poll asked a geo- graphically balanced sample. of - 323. households. from. Or OK.?” . ‘Overall on the North Shore 59 per cent of. the respondents with a firm opi- ' nion supported the goyern- ment’s.. restraint policy in principle, while 41 per cent opposed it in principle. Among the supporters, however, only three per cent thought the methods of implementing the policy were not tough enough, as against 54 per cent who said they were’ -too tough. Another'43 per cent believed the methods were O.K. ~~ An average of approx- imately one in four respondents was undecided or refused to answer.
