And Boozers Marathon
- crossed the finish line and
then headed into a bar to
celebrate.

More than 50 runners left
one air-conditioned bar to
run in the race Saturday and
ran all of 10 blocks to
Copperfield’s bar.

Winner John McNulty, 22,
a student at Colorado State
University, attributed his
victory to the number of
beers he drank before the
race.

McNulty’s winning time
wasn’t available, but race
observers said his perfect
calculation of when stop
lights would turn green was
the key to his win.

The “marathon” raised
“several thousand dollars”
for Jeff Ferrell, a night
manager who was shot in the
head last month at the Tipsy
Tiger Lounge in Denver.
The money will help pay his
medical bills.
