Mrs. Jefferies’ son returned -

home for the winter season.

He’d never received the

office and, via letters, to the

in vain. Eventually the

Then, a short time before
Christmas, an oificiai card
was delivered to the Jefferies
stating that they owned the
post office 98 cents postage
due. So Mr. Jefferies went
‘down to see what it was all
about...and, of _— course,
you've guessed the rest—or
almost.

There, back in North
Vancouver, was the missing
package, looking somewhat
the worse for wear after
having apparently been
opened several times, and
bearing half a dozen foreign
postmarks. me,

mail service has taken such a beating in the past
year or two that it seems almost indecent to add
even one more paragraph to its chapter of woes.
