Police hearing opens

* THE first day of a private
disciplinary appeal hear-
ing was held Monday for
a “suspended West Van-
couver Police officer.

Const. Glen Mason was
required to resign after being
found guilty in March of
lying. He was also suspended

for one day without pay for
inappropriately using his gun
and discreditable conduct.

He had been the subject of
an internal investigation and
internal police hearing.
